Workshop: “The Edible Landscape”
The edible landscape can include an assortment of edible plants such as fruit and nut trees, herbs and edible flowers that work to create a beautiful and ecological environment around your home or business. This presentation focuses on the role of vegetables in the edible landscape as well as their cultivation and best growing practices.
Cathy Hooper is certified as an Organic Master Gardener and Permaculture Designer. Cathy is interested in teaching others to grow food so that we can all contribute to a sustainable food system. She also recognizes that edible plants can be incorporated beautifully into a landscape design or individual garden.. Cathy has recently taught a series of workshops to install an edible garden for children’s programs at Camp Kawartha’s environment centre, near Trent University. In the past she has been a CSA and market gardener and is currently homesteading with her family on five acres in Warsaw. Cathy offers workshops, consultations and mentoring to help organizations and individuals establish their own edible gardens.
