Talk: “Lessons on sustainable best practices and stories from SHARE Agriculture Foundation’s work in South and Central America”

SHARE stands for Sending Help and Resources thumbnail_benEverywhere and is an effective Canadian non-profit charity organization. SHARE provides funding, guidance and expertise to agriculturally- based communities in third world developing countries with a focus on Central and South America.

Testimonial: The Honourable Lorna Milne, retired Canadian Senator:

“The efforts and donations of the many people who support SHARE have alleviated poverty and hunger for thousands for people in areas where there are no social safety nets. SHARE proves that individual Canadians can make a difference where the need is greatest.”

SHARE’s projects are in the poorest, most isolated communities where they will have the greatest impact. Our principles are based on giving a “hand-up” rather than a “hand-out” with the focus on sustainable projects that increase a community’s capacity to care for itself

Ben earned his diploma in agriculture at the University of Guelph Ridgetown campus, and a Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie in Halifax.thumbnail_Escape-to-Reality

Ben spent several years working in the food industry before travelling across Europe, Russia, Mongolia and China on his own, then joining his dad Mark in the business two years ago.

Ben, like many millennials, has a passion for food gardening and the environment.

He is engaged to Sam and enjoys leisure time with dog Ruby when he is not gardening in his 2,000 sq ft allotment garden in Guelph Ontario.

“Escape to Reality” is Ben’s first published book and likely not his last.

Ben is a fourth generation gardener and will be speaking at our Opening Reception (a ticketed event) on Friday evening, April 26, 2019.
